There’s a great article on the Guardian site today about the relative safety of cycling in various places in the UK and mainland Europe.
The most interesting fact from my perspective was about the level of cycle usage in Netherlands compared to the UK.
In the UK only 2% of all journeys involve a bike.
In the Netherlands the equivalent figure is 27%.
